National Sales Manager

Manages sales activities including initiatives, proposal process, closing strategies, ensure favorable contract negotiations and terms, direct sales, and develop customer relations. achieves sales goals and meets related financial performance. Supervises direct sales personnel and monitors sales in relation to goals. Prepares and delivers sales materials; attends exhibits and other promotional opportunities. Education, and Experience Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree preferred; +7 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; Proven sales experience and technical proficiency of high purity water treatment systems with electro-deionization, filtration, ion-exchange, multi-media filtration, reverse-osmosis, and ultra filtration technologies; Demonstrated experience with markets ranging from boiler feed make-up to ultra-pure applications. Responsibilities: Manages sales efforts, including activities of direct, domestic sales staff, negotiation and sales functions, and monitoring of contracts; Develops and supervises the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs; prepares for and attends exhibits, conferences, meetings, and other local, regional, and national promotional opportunities; Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution; Sells to and maintains contact with major accounts; promotes positive relations with sales representatives and vendors; Assists in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitors expenditures; Participates and is responsible for safety performance for direct reports; Analyzes and appraises the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results; approves display content and costs for showings requested by sales representatives; Responds to inquiries and researches problems related to project turnover for timely resolution; serves as liaison with other managers in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational issues; Maintains and monitors records and reports; Ensures compliance requirements for proposal creation, project costing, and scheduling; Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Goal oriented. Ability to create and execute sales plans to achieve stated goals; Knowledge of industrial equipment sales principles, methods, and techniques; Knowledge of cost analysis techniques; Ability to make evaluative judgments; Skill in examining and re-engineering related procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures; Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments; Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements; Employee development and performance management skills; Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management; Records maintenance skills; Ability to foster a cooperative work environment; Ability to analyze and solve problems; Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements; Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.; Ability to plan, organize, and implement a range of sales promotion programs and/or events; Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions; Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals; Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
