Key Areas of Responsibility/Expertise: Manage a group of 10 fully trained independent manufacturers’ reps within a sales territory, (ND, SD, MN, IL, WI, IN, MI, OH, WV, PA, MD, NJ, New England) including training, hiring, firing, and on-going evaluation. Perform all sales activity within an assigned geographic territory. Develop and implement sales plan identifying: sales objectives, sales opportunities, major customers, and regional shows to be attended during the following fiscal year. Participate in sales activities to support the rep network within a territory including: customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations and customer seminars. Assist in maintaining a mail list for customers in the assigned territory through the Company’s CRM system (Goldmine). Collect and report information on all competitive activity within the assigned territory in support of the marketing department. Background and Skill Requirements: Prefer a BA or BS degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biology, Environment Sciences or Chemical Engineering. MBA considered a plus. Other related experience will be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree Two to five years experience in either instruments or municipal water market sectors. Industrial sales experience (two to five years) in similar products and services preferred. Must be a self-starter. Must possess excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation). Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet. Must be willing and able to travel extensively (greater than 50%). Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle concurrent projects. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers. Proven track record in outstanding sales performance Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good motor vehicle driving record. The individual may live anywhere between Chicago to Boston. Salary, commission, car allowance and stock options. Must be an over achiever with the ability to sell innovative products using a concept sales approach rather than features and benefits.
