The Lead Reverse Osmosis (RO) Engineer will be responsible for overall conceptual and detail design of all cross-flow membrane, depth, and media filter systems at the Torrance facility. The Lead RO Engineer will supervise other RO engineers and designers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The Lead RO Engineer is responsible for planning, providing and monitoring daily engineering and design work assignments and coordinating engineering tasks with other departments. The Lead RO Engineer performs training; conducts performance reviews; evaluates potential employees; and interfaces with the Sales, Customer Service Production and Purchasing departments. The Lead RO Engineer writes and administers work instructions; oversees engineering quality standards; maintains the quality system database, monitors production methods, revises production procedures, assures proper use of all engineering forms and procedures, and evaluates and recommends purchase of cost reduction tools and capital. The Lead RO Engineer works with and is responsible to prepare drawings, models, sketches, schematics, route sheets, equipment lists, Bills of Material (BOM’s), work instructions, Standard Operating Practices and verbal instructions. The Lead RO Engineer administers company safety policy within the RO engineering group. The Lead RO Engineer implements special projects and assignments, product development, procedures and R&D work as directed. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE The Lead RO Engineer is a BS in Engineering graduate, Technical/Vocational School graduate with in-depth RO experience, or a self taught engineer with in-depth RO experience. Preferably, the Lead RO Engineer has a minimum of 5 years in RO, Ultra-filtration (UF), Nano-filtraiton (NF) and other cross-flow membrane equipment and system design and is familiar with sizing and detailing cross-flow membrane water and wastewater systems. Experience with managing small engineering and design staffs. Hands on cross-flow membrane system design experience is a must Responsible for preliminary design, detail design, and engineering management of cross-flow membrane systems. Will manage several projects simultaneously. Oversee specific technical area(s) including the supervision of staff, performing analysis of design data, issuing interpretations and solving design problems as required.
